$1,321,912 and cocaine seized from 3 storage facilities

The APD Organized Crime Division executed a search warrant at three storage facilities in Del Valle on June 25, 2003 and seized 11 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of $500,000 along with $1,321,912 in cash, four vehicles and a firearm. The search warrants were obtained after the arrest of Cruz Francisco Castro, 29 (Date of Birth 01-05-75). Castro was arrested after he sold and delivered cocaine. Five other suspects were also arrested during the investigation.

The follow-up investigation was conducted by the Bulk Currency Task Force that is comprised of law enforcement officers from the IRS-Criminal Investigation Division, Austin Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety (Narcotics Division), Texas Department of Public Safety Post Seizure Analysis Team, Drug Enforcement Administration and Austin Aviation Police. The United States Attorney's Office of the Western District of Texas prosecuted the cases.
