Mexico's Attorney Generals office announces large seizure of drugs
Agents of the Attorney General's Office in Sonora
seized 10 kilos of heroin, 1,543 pounds of marijuana, over three Kilos of cocaine and twenty six arrest in
the municipalities of Cajeme, Hermosillo, Santa Ana, Naco, Altar and San Luis Rio Colorado. The first
operation was at a road junction at the international highway leading to hamlet of Torim. Agents of the
Federal Investigations Agency (AFI) seized three kilos of cocaine and arrested Jorge Enrique Camacho
Montoya and Renato Lozoya Melendrez who where transporting the drugs on a 1948
Kenworth tractor trailer from Culiacan to Hermosillo, Sonora.
On a different case AFI agents detained
Angelica Maria Rios Bahena and Norma Jimenez Nava who were caught on a bus
with five kilos of heroin. The arrest took place on the international highway 15 at the Esperanza toll booth.
The bus of the "Estrella Blanca" line was traveling from Mexico City to San Luis Rio Colorado,
Sinaloa.
At another inspection and survailance stop
operation on international highway 15 AFI agents seized 64 pounds of marijuana and about four kilos of
heroin. Agents arrested Luis Miguel Rojas Presiado and Fernando Elias Estrada who were transporting the drugs
on a 1972 DINA bus.
At the Sonoyata-San Luis Colorado highway, AFI
agents seized 360 kilos of marijuana. Ramon Donato Gonzalez Ramirez and Hector
Fernando Rojo Sanchez were arrested after attempting to transport the drugs on a 1993 Freightliner
from Culiacan, Sinaloa to Mexicali, Baja California.
A Federal Public Ministry Agent and AFI agent with
a report from a citizen , arrested Trinidad Cervantes Faleva for possession of 48.5 pounds of Marijuana and
also seized besides the drugs a Grand Marquis. The arrest were made when the car was in route from Navojoa to
Nogales on the international highwat 15 in Nogales.In another operation done by AFI agent assigned to the air
interception base in Santa Ana, Sonora seized 661 pounds of marijuana and two pickup trucks, a Ram1500 and a
F350 Super Duty at a dirt path near "La Playa" ranch.
