February 02, 2005 Interstate 80, Nebraska State Trooper finds 38 kilograms of cocaine in a BMW SUV vehicle from
Nevada, two women were arrested
Suspected cocaine with a street value of more than
two million dollars was uncovered during a routine traffic stop on Interstate-80. Some 38 kilos or 80 pounds
of suspected cocaine was discovered in a silver BMW sports utility vehicle with Nevada
plates.
The traffic stop was made around 2:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, February 2, 2005 east of the Waverly interchange on I-80. The vehicle was headed eastbound, when
it was pulled over for driving on the shoulder of the road and no front license
plate.
Verbal permission to search the vehicle was given
by its two female occupants. A Nebraska State Patrol K-9 alerted to the front left portion of the SUV. A
subsequent search revealed compartments inside the vehicle containing packages believed to be drugs. A
thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 38 kilos of suspected
cocaine.
The two female occupants of the SUV were lodged in
the Lancaster County Correctional Center on charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled
Substance.
