Sheriff's Deputies find 52 pounds of marijuana and & a stolen pistol after a traffic stop of an El Expreso bus from Houston

On Thursday, December 14, 2006 at approximately 2:00 am, EBRSO Narcotics Division Interdiction Deputies (HIDTA II) made a traffic stop of an El Expreso passenger bus.

The bus was traveling from Houston, TX to Miami, FL and was stopped traveling eastbound on I-12 near Sherwood. The stop and subsequent odor alert by K-9 Laika resulted in the seizure of approximately 52 pounds of marijuana and a stolen .22 caliber pistol. The estimated street value of the marijuana is $118,000.00.
