9 Members of the "Nacho Coronel" drug trafficking organization arrested
On December 18, 2006 the Mexican Attorney Generals Office and the
offices of the Secretary of Defense announced that they had captured 9 members of the drug trafficking criminal
organization of Ignacio Coronel Villarreal a.k.a "Nacho Coronel". Ignacio Coronel Villarreal is wanted by both the
Mexican Government and the United States Government for the trafficking large amounts of cocaine from South and
Central America into Mexico and the United States. The arrested were related to a investigation of Jesus Raul
Beltran Uriarte who was the second in command of "Nacho Coronel". The Mexican army with the help of State Agents
made the arrest at three different residents. Two of the Residences were located in Zapopan, Jalisco and one at
Tlajomulco de Zuñiga, Jalisco. At these residents agents seized several weapons, 13 vehicles, 2 motorcycles,
$1,811,758 US dollars and $1,885,000 in Mexican currency. The Mexican Army turned over the 9 individuals arrested
to the Attorney General's Office to be sent to the Division Specializing in Organized Crime (SIEDO). The
individuals arrested were Jesus Raul Beltran Uriarte, Jose Raul Rodriguez, Rafael Contreras Soto, Everardo
Beltran Leon, Jose Pedro Madrid Araujo, Fransico Amado Beltran Galaviz, Blanca Armida Madrid Araujo and
Marco Antonio Beltran Uriarte.
