MO Trooper seizes 19 pounds of marijuana & arrests two men from Illinois

On December 29, 2006, at approximately 1443 hours, a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol stopped a Ford Escort on eastbound I-70 at Route M for a traffic violation. Several inconsistencies were found during conversations with the driver and passenger. Consent to search the vehicle was obtained and 19 one-pound bundles of marihuana were located in the vehicle's trunk.

The driver, Jason R. Staats, 27, and the passenger, Jamie M. Damron, age 21, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and taken to the Lafayette County Jail.
