State Troopers seize 25 kilograms of cocaine from a tractor trailer driver
A California man will appear in the Shelby County
Municipal court tomorrow after Ohio State Highway Troopers seized 25 kilos of cocaine, valued at $2.5
million, during a traffic stop on Interstate 75 in Shelby County. Carlos Garcia, 37, of
LaPuente, California, will be charged with trafficking of cocaine, a first-degree felony. Troopers stopped a
2000 Freightliner driven by Garcia, for an improper lane violation northbound on Interstate 75, near mile
post 89, in Shelby County at 10:42 a.m. A Shelby County drug-detecting canine alerted to the vehicle and a
probable cause search revealed 25 kilos of cocaine in the trailer. Garcia was incarcerated in the Shelby
County Jail pending his hearing in the Shelby County Municipal
Court.
