Ohio State Troopers seized 1.5 kilograms of cocaine insdie of a Hummer H2
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 1.5 kilos
of cocaine, valued at $150,000, during a traffic stop today on Interstate 70 in Preble County. The suspect
will be arraigned tomorrow in the Eaton Municipal Court on a felony drug trafficking charge associated with
the case. The driver, Cortez H. McClendon, 32, of Pittsburgh, Pa., was charged with
first-degree felony possession of cocaine. A trooper stopped the 2003 Hummer H2 with Pennsylvania
registration for following too closely eastbound on Interstate 70 near milepost 8 in Preble County at 2:15
p.m. An Ohio State Highway Patrol drug-detection canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search
revealed 1.5 kilos of cocaine. McClendon was incarcerated in the Preble County Jail. If convicted, he could
face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000
