143 Kilograms of cocaine and $800,000 seized, One person arrested
A traffic stop for speeding at 148
Marion Oaks Trail led to the discovery of $800,000.00 in cash and 143 kilograms of cocaine. K-9 handler
Collins and Deputy Torrellas conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Cherokee for speeding as it pulled into the
driveway of 148 Marion Oaks Trail. As K-9 Chamber walked around the vehicle, he alerted to the presence of
narcotics being inside the Jeep. A large amount of cocaine was found and the H.I.D.T.A., (High Intensity Drug
Trafficking Area) Unit, which is a partnership with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Drug
Enforcement Agency, Ocala Police Department, along with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, responded to take
over the investigation. A search of the residence also netted more packaged cocaine and cash money. It is
believed that the residence and vehicles were used as a possible distribution center for drugs to be
delivered through out the state of Florida. Felipe Rosas (Date of Birth 7-11-1986) was
arrested and charged with no valid driver's license and trafficking cocaine. He was held without
bond.
