Nebraska Trooper arrests two people from Arizona for having 950 lbs of
marijuana

Troop-Lincoln, Sunday, March 25, 2007, seized 950 pounds of marijuana during a routine traffic stop along
Interstate 80.
The seizure occurred at 3:17 p.m. Sunday, on
eastbound I-80 just west of the Platte River Bridge, when a trooper stopped a white 2007 Chevy Suburban, for
a license plate violation. A search of the vehicle revealed 950.2 lbs of marijuana. The marijuana was covered
by a dark sheet and luggage in the cargo and backseat area of the vehicle. The vehicle was believed headed
from Arizona to Omaha.
Arrested on a charge of Possession of Marijuana
with Intent to Distribute was the driver of the vehicle 49-year-old Fedrico Balli, of
Phoenix, Arizona. A passenger in the vehicle, 38-year-old Deborah Vasquez, of Phoenix,
Arizona, was also arrested on a charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. Both Balli and
Vasquez were lodged in the Lancaster County Jail.
