Ohio State Troopers seize 17 kilos of cocaine during a traffic stop

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 17 kilos of cocaine, valued at $1.7 million, during a traffic stop yesterday on the Ohio Turnpike in Lucas County. The suspect will be arraigned in Maumee Municipal Court on felony drug trafficking charges associated with the case. The driver, Efren Posadas, 52, of Philadelphia, PA, was charged with trafficking in drugs and drug abuse, both first-degree felonies. He was also charged with fifth-degree felony possession of criminal tools.Troopers stopped the 2004 Chrysler Concorde displaying Delaware temporary registration, for a marked lanes violation eastbound on the Ohio Turnpike near milepost 57 in Lucas County at 7:52 p.m. yesterday. An Ohio State Highway Patrol drug detecting canine alerted to the vehicle, and a probable cause search revealed 17 kilos of cocaine. Posadas was incarcerated in the Lucas County Jail. If convicted, he could face up to 21 years in prison and up to a $42,500 fine.
