July 31, 2007 Lancaster County, Nebraska Troopers find 105 pounds of
marijuana hidden in a truck's false bed
A routine traffic stop on Interstate-80 led to the
seizure of 105 lbs of marijuana and the arrest of two California residents for Possession of Marijuana with
Intent to Deliver.
Around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, a
trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol Headquarters Troop- Lincoln stopped an eastbound 1993 Ford Ranger
pickup for speeding near mile marker 403 on I-80. The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle. During
the search it was discovered that the bed of the pickup had been altered, and contained a false bed. A
further search of the false bed resulted in the discovery of 105 lbs of marijuana. The marijuana was packaged
in two-lb bundles.
The driver of the pickup 20-year-old Daniel
A. Reynoso of Riverside, California and a passenger in the pickup, 25-year-old Samuel Ariel
Lopez, of Riverside, California, were taken into custody and lodged in the Lancaster County Jail,
each on a charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.
