Missouri State Troopers seize 140 pounds of marijuana inside of a Kenworth tractor
trailer on Interstate 44
On Wednesday, August 29, 2007, an eastbound 2007
Kenworth tractor-trailer was stopped by commercial motor vehicle officers for a routine inspection, on
Interstate 44 at Missouri Highway 744, in Greene County. Due to unusual circumstances, a trooper was
summoned, then a request to search was requested and granted. The ensuing search of the tractor resulted in
the discovery of 140 pounds of marijuana found inside of five separate duffel bags.
The driver, Jose F. Pico Acevedo,
of Riveria, CA, was arrested for trafficking marijuana, and released pending
warrant.
