Border Patrol agents find 1,916 lbs of marijuana in a tractor trailer
Border Patrol agents assigned to the Nogales,
Arizona station seized more than 1,900 pounds of marijuana during routine checkpoint operations
Wednesday.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., an agent working at the I-19 checkpoint was alerted by his canine partner to the
possible presence of narcotics inside a tractor trailer. Further inspection of the trailer led to the discovery of
124 bundles of marijuana hidden behind boxes of produce. The 1,916 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street
value of more than $1.5 million, was processed and turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration along with
the driver of the vehicle.
