State Trooper seizes 5 pounds of meth, Adalberto Castro arrested
On February 28, 2008 at 8 a.m. an Arizona
Department of Public Safety Officer stopped a 1998 Dodge Mini Van for a traffic violation. The traffic stop
occurred on eastbound Interstate 40 at milepost 204, near Flagstaff.
Consent to search was obtained and four bundles of
methamphetamine totally 5 pounds were found from a hidden compartment in the dashboard. The driver
Adalberto Castro (26 years old) from Bakersfield, CA was arrested. Castro was coming from
the Phoenix area and was heading to Albuquerque, New Mexico. The license plate on the van was a specialty
license plate commemorating fallen law enforcement officers. The vehicle was registered to another
person.
