(aka Carlos Herrera Avalos), leader in the Tijuana Cartel (Arellano-Felix Cartel) captured in Mexico
On March 11, 2008 Mexican Federal Police

arrested Gustavo
Rivera
Martinez (46 years old).
This person is one of the top operators in the Tijuana Cartel. This cartel is also known as the
Arellano-Felix brothers organization and is responsible for moving tons of cocaine and marijuana since the
1980s from Colombia through Mexico and into many parts of the United States.
Gustavo Rivera-Martinez is a U.S. Citizen because he was born in
California. Rivera-Martinez also goes by the alias of Carlos Herrera Avalos and
nicknames of "El Gus", "El Licenciado", "El P1". Rivera-Martinez will be 
deported from Mexico back to the United
States.
Asemat Hernandez who is believed to be a significant member in
the Tijuana Cartel was also arrested. The two others that were
arrested were Antonio Moreno Herrera and Canadian citizen
Pavel Kulisek.
There was a 2 million dollar reward for information leading to the
capture of Gustavo Rivera-Martinez. Rivera-Martinez has been
wanted by the D.E.A. in San Diego, California for many years. He
was wanted for the following charges...
TITLE 21 USC, SECTIONS 952, 960 & 963 – CONSPIRACY to
IMPORT MARIJUANA and COCAINE
TITLE 21 USC, SECTIONS 846 & 841 9 (a) (1) – CONSPIRACY to
DISTRIBUTE MARIJUANA and COCAINE
TITLE 18 USC, SECTION 2 – AIDING &
ABETTING.
