1,728 pounds of marijuana found in a commercial vehicle on I-17

On October 4, 2008 an Arizona Department of Public Safety stopped a commercial vehicle on Interstate 17 for a traffic violation. When the officer searched the vehicle the officer observed wooden crates that were not the same as the rest of the load. When the crates were searched 1,728 pounds of marijuana were found. Nelvin Charles Blake, age 44, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, transportation of marijuana for sale and attempted bribery of a public official.
