DPS seized 2,118 pounds of marijuana from a cloned UPS truck
An investigation done by the Pima County Narcotics
Alliance of Arizona's Department of Public Safety resulted in the seizure of 2,118 pounds of marijuana and a
cloned UPS truck. A Department of Public Safety Canine officer attempted to stop the vehicle but when it came
to a complete stop the driver fled from the truck. When the truck was searched they founds bundles of
marijuana that still had the burlap back straps that are used by the human carriers to carry the drugs across
the desert. The truck was painted to match the color of a UPS truck and contained yellow decals in the same
areas as an authorized UPS truck. The truck also contained a homemade Arizona license plate and a plate
number belonging to a authentic truck serving the Tucson area.
