230 lbs of marijuana were seized from a Ford Explorer after a traffic stop

On November 19, 2008 a Department of Public Safety stopped two vehicles, a Ford Explorer and a Chevrolet pickup for a traffic and equipment violations. When the officer came to the vehicle he was able to see the bundles of marijuana in the rear of the vehicle and on the passenger seat in the front. The subjects in the Ford and the Chevrolet were traveling together and all three were arrested. Fausto Guzman, age 21, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and transportation of marijuana for sale. Jorge Abril and Jose Valencia were both charged with conspiracy to transport marijuana for sale. The total amount of marijuana seized was 230 pounds.
