Texas U.S Border Partol Agents seize over 2,600 pounds of marijuana
U.S. Border Patrol agents working near Mercedes,
Texas Saturday seized 30 bundles of marijuana that weighed more than 2,600
pounds.
Border Patrol agents from the Weslaco station
spotted a silver van leaving the river area. When agents approached, the driver ditched the vehicle and fled
on foot. Inside the van agents found 30 bundles of marijuana.
Agents apprehended the driver, a Mexican national,
a short time later while searching the area. The marijuana, driver and van were turned over to the DEA.
