California 374 Pounds of marijuana seized from a Marine private
vessel
U. S. Customs and Border Protection Marine
Interdiction agents discovered more than 300 pounds of marijuana hidden in a 20-foot private pleasure vessel
they intercepted approximately one mile off Mission Bay on May 10,
2009.
During a subsequent customs search of the bayliner
vessel at the Harbor police dock, agents found 24 wrapped packages of marijuana weighing approximately 374
pounds hidden in the vessel. Two U.S. Citizen Males, ages 47 and 52, were arrested by the CBP Marine
Interdiction agents. The vessel and contraband were taken to a secure location and the two men were turned
over to Marine Task Force agents for further
investigation.
