Arizona DPS officer seized 945 pounds of marijuana from a vehicle.

On May 14, 2009, an Arizona Department of Public Safety Officer attempted to stop a 1995 Chevrolet pickup for a license plate violation on Interstate 19 when the vehicle exited at Sahuarita road and drove eastbound. The vehicle drove into a nearby shopping center parking lot and two individuals fled from the stopped vehicle and ran into the desert. A search of the pickup truck revealed 945 pounds of marijuana.
