CBP officers find 117 pounds of marijuana in a 1998 Ford Explorer
On May 17, 2009 at the Douglas port of entry, a
23-year-old female United States female citizen, was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer. The woman applied for
entry into the United States through the vehicle primary lanes. A Customs and Border Protection officer
screening travelers waiting to enter the U.S. selected the woman and her vehicle for
inspection.
Once in secondary the vehicle was searched with a
non-intrusive imaging device which revealed anomalies in the fuel tank. CBP officers removed a total of 117
pounds of marijuana from the gas tank.
