CBP officers seize 450 pounds of marijuana from a 21 year old female
On May 17, 2009 at the Douglas port of entry, a
21-year-old United States female citizen, was driving a 2001 GMC Yukon. The woman applied for entry into the
United States through the vehicle primary lanes. A Customs and Border Protection officer screening travelers
waiting to enter the U.S. selected the woman and her vehicle for inspection. During the examination, CBP
officers noted discrepancies in floor of the vehicle. A CBP narcotic detector dog "Jessy" also alerted to the
odor of narcotics emanating from the vehicle. A total of 450 pounds of marijuana was removed from the
non-factory compartment of the floor.
The vehicle and marijuana were seized were turned
over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation.
