Border Patrol agents sieze over 200 pounds of Marijuana from a vehicle
On May 20, 2009 U.S Border Patrol agents stopped a
Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by a 32-year-old male heading westbound on Interstate 8. As agents approached the
vehicle, they noticed on the passenger seat a large camouflage backpack with a cellophane wrapped bundle
exposed. Border Patrol agents also discovered that the smuggler attempted to hide a small makeup bag behind
the vehicle's center console. The bag contained a variety of drug paraphernalia and pills which included a
glass pipe, spoons with resin, and hypodermic syringes. The total amount of seized was over 200 pounds. The
driver, his vehicle, and the illicit drugs were turned over to a multi-agency drug task
force.
