Tyler Brockman was arrested after $181,746 were discovered in his truck
On August 17, 2009 a DPS Officer stopped a Dodge
pick-up, for a speeding violation on Interstate 17 southbound near Cordes Junction. While talking with the
driver of the Dodge truck, the officer detected odd behavior exhibited by the driver that were indicative of
criminal behavior. The DPS Officer deployed his K-9 and performed an external check of the truck. The K-9
alerted to the truck and search of the vehicle uncovered a back pack that was located on the back seat which
contained several vacuum-sealed storage bags where $181,746 in U.S. currency was
packaged.
The driver, Tyler Brockman, age
22, was believed to have started this trip for the transportation of the cash from Omaha, Nebraska headed to
Phoenix. Brockman was charged with Money Laundering, Class 3 Felony and booked into the Yavapai County
Sheriff's Office Jail. The vehicle, a 2001 Dodge Ram 4X4 pick-up was seized.
