Border Patrol agens arrest 16 illegal aliens with 1200 pounds of mairjuana
Border Patrol agents assigned to the Fort Brown
station seized more than 1,200 pounds of marijuana on April 6. Border Patrol agents working near Brownsville
were notified that Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Game Wardens had encountered two suspected illegal
aliens after they responded to a call of suspicious activity along the Brownsville Ship Channel. After
searching the area, the responding Border Patrol agents, with the assistance of TPWD Game Wardens, arrested
16 illegal aliens and seized 18 bundles of marijuana along with two rafts that were used to negotiate the
channel. The 16 illegal aliens will be prosecuted and removed to their country of origin under Operation
Streamline. The marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
