Customs agents make two seperate cocaine seizures in one day
Two
seizures occurred on January 16, 2010 at the border. The first took place at the Brownsville and Matamoros Bridge.
A Customs officer referred a 2002 Chrysler Sebring to have a secondary inspection performed. The vehicle was being
driven by a 24 year old Mexican female. While at the inspection a Canine named, “Misha” alerted to the vehicle. A
more detailed inspection was done resulting in the discovery of cocaine concealed in the dashboard of the vehicle.
There were a total of nine packages with a weight of 22 pounds. The second occurred at the Gateway International
Bridge. Officers seized 12 pounds of cocaine that was hidden in the rear quarter panels of a 2003 Ford Expedition.
A US citizen form Brownsville, Texas was driving the vehicle.
