Deputy arrests subject arrested with 40 pounds on Interstate 95
Johnston County Sheriff Steve Bizzell announced that yesterday
morning at approximately 9:00 a.m., a Johnston County Sheriff’s
Deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle on Interstate 95 near Benson for
a motor vehicle violation. After the issuance of a warning citation,
the deputy observed suspicious indicators which led to a consensual
search of the vehicle.
During the search of the vehicle, a 2004 Jeep Liberty, approximately
40 pounds of marijuana with a street value of approximately $80,000
was found in the cargo area.
The driver, Kevin Lindsay, alias Mark Albert Lee, of Myrtle Beach,
South Carolina, was arrested and charged with Felony Trafficking in
Marijuana by Possession, Felony Trafficking in Marijuana by
Transportation, and Giving Fictitious Information to a Law
Enforcement Officer.
