U.S. District Judge Richard D. Bennett sentenced Franklin
Washington, age 35, of Clinton, Maryland today to 121 months in
prison followed by five years of supervised release for possession
with intent to distribute crack cocaine, announced United States
Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein.
According to his guilty plea, on five occasions from April to
September 2006, Washington distributed cocaine to a confidential
informant. On September 1, 2006 Anne Arundel County police
stopped Washington’s vehicle for a traffic violation. A canine search
was conducted and officers seized 118.2 grams of crack cocaine
and 17.7 grams of powder cocaine from the vehicle, along with a
digital scale.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the Drug
Enforcement Administration and the Anne Arundel County Police
Department for their investigative work, and commended Assistant
United States Attorney Bryan M. Giblin, who prosecuted the case.
